۞ About Nainital
|
|
Splashed on
the shores of an eye-shaped
lake, Nainital offers something
that most hill stations don’t-more
viwes of itself than of the
distant Himalayan peaks. Most
tourists are happy to relax
in cafés and rowboats and let
their gazes rest on the tower,
the town’s shimmering centerpiece.
Originally conceived as a summer
getaway by the British, Nainital
is now beloved by the beleaguered
masses of UP, who flock here
during May and June to quell
blazing temperatures on the
plains. You may be better off
avoiding National during these
times, as prices, noise levels
and crowd sizes rise astronomically.
|
 |
|
|
At other times,
the spot is no less picturesque, even
during the monsoon when the surrounding
hills hem in low-flying clouds, forming
a misty canopy over the town.
