In Hindu Legend Goa is called the land of the Gods. In Goa there are many religions, and every religion has its own holidays and festivals that is why Goa enjoy number of holidays and festivals. All the banks, post offices and transport services are closed. Goan celebrate Christian festivals as well as wide Hindu festivals. Easter, Lent and Feast of St. Frances Xavier are the Christian festivals occurs on fixed dates where as Hindu religious festivals follow the lunar calendar and therefore change from year to year.

Feast of Our Lady of Candelaria, Pop, Beat and Jazz Festival, Shimgo (Goa’s version of Holi), Carnival (arrival of Spring), Good Friday, Christmas Day etc.
