Pazhassiraja museum: 5 kms locted east hill. The pazhassiraja museum of the state archeological department located at east hill house copies of ancient mural paintings, antique bronzes and old coins models of temples megalithic monuments like dolmonoid cyster, Umbrella stones etc. are also exhibited here.
  The art gallery  &krishana memon museum:  (EAST HILL) adjacent to the pazhassiraja museum painting of raja ravi varma and  rajavarma are in the fine collection available here.   The museum has a section dedicated to the the personal belonging of the late vk krishna menon.

Kappad (16kms from calicut) : the historic beach of kappad locally known  as kappadkadavu. This is the place where vascoda-Gama the Portuguese navigator landed
In India in 1498. Apillar with the inscription VASCODA-GAMA LANDED HERE”  The beach itself is a clam heaven,set admidst picture square fishing village and beautiful rock formations. Aslo an ancient temple on the hillock facing the sea.

Berpore(10kmsfromcalicut): beypore is one of the important ports of ancient kerala>the boat building yard here is a famous for contructions of uru or country craft. It is also a majoy fishing harbour,

CANNANORE (kannur) :90kms from calicut.

Kozhikoda: this seaside resort is reched from Kozhikode by ral or road and is 90 kms. The town oers a cooer climate with an unimpeded flow of the sea breez. Cannore was the apita of the kolathiri Rajah or amay centuries. Chie rval of the Zamorin in Mahabar. It was als well known port, familiar to the Arabs and Persians. It has an old fort built by the Portuguese. Kannanore is mentined in marcopolose. Cannanore is today a pleasant town with an xcelent beach and many historic monuments.

St. Angelo’s Forte: The St. Angelo’s fort built by the first Portuguese Viceroy in 1505 AD. It is a land mark of Cannanore. The first port late become the major military base of the British in north Kerala.

Kolathiri Raja Palace: At Chirakka  6 kms from cannore.

Madayi: 12 kms from Cannore – There is also the famous 12th century mosque. Built by Malik Ibn Dinar, the white marble used in the mosque is said t have been brought from Ari. The beach here is beutifu.

Parassini Kadavutemple: 20 kms from cannor. This is situated on the banks of the Valapattnam River.

Ezhimala: (55 kms from Cannore) th high hlls an proximity to seamake Ezhimala a prominent land mark, especially the sailos out at sea. At the fort foot o the hills is an old Burial Chamber and cave. Fruther up the hills is an ancient mosque.

Bekal: (Bekel): 10 kms from Kasargod The famous for its anient and historic ort built on a Rocky heiht adjoinon the sea having a commanding view. It is one of the largesr and best preservation forts Cannanore District. There are observations towners. Cannot emplacements etc. An old mosque near by is belived to have been built by Tipusultan.

Tellicherry: 70 kms from Cannore. The British east India Company establiahed on the Malabar coast at Tellichery in 1683 AD. The famous  German scholar in Malayalam, Gundarnert established a Church on Nettur Bil at Tellichey in 1839 AD. Dr undaret complied the first dictionary in Malayalam.

Sultan’s Battery: (98 kms from Calicut) Sultan’s Battery was formerly known as Ganapathivattam, the field of Lord Ganapathi. The place derived its present name om Tipusultan of Maysore, who built the sport during his life time, in the 18th century. A few miles fro here is perunamam Kotta or pannavaram 29 kms where the Pazhasi Raja had his stronghold till the fort was capturd by British in 1805 AD.

Wynad: (128 kms from alicut): A place known for its coee, tea, ardmon, peper and Rubber plantions. The famous jain temple at Kalapetta indicates that wynd was once a stronghold of jains. The anient coorbige in the natural caves at Edakkal speak of a highly civilized people.
