Srivadakkumnathantemple:  This temple is classic example of the
keralastylearchitecture. The temple contains the sacred shrines of paramashiva parvathy,
sankaranarayana,ganapathi sri  Ram and  krishna .The centralshrines and koothambalam
exhibit exquisite vignettes carved in wood. The temple was founded by paraasuram. Trichur pooram,non-hindus are not allowed inside the temple.
Sri Paramakkavukshetram: At the bottom of the hillock on which vadakkuath kshetram stands believed its bright pink and white façade is a large entrance hall which leads to the main diety of bhagavati of godess durga.

Thriuvanbadi Temple: A little fur there away in the heart of the town is dedi cated to Lord Krishna.

Lordes Church (East Fort): It has a large and imposing interior lts pretty little underground Shrine is a very Special attraction

Town Hall: An imposing building with a chittralayam of a picture gallery where mural paintings from all the parts of kerala  
 
State Museum & Zoo: Both enclosed within the same area.

Art Museum: Good collection of wood carvings, metal sculptures and ancient jewellery.

Peechi Dam: 24 kms from Trichur. The Peechi dam constructed across the Manali river.

Irinjalakuda: 21 kms from Trichur. Kutamanikyam Temple in India dedicated to Lord Rama’s brother Bharata. The waters of this temple tank are said to have curative powers.

Guruvayur : 32 kms from Trichur, 109 kms from Trivendram. Guruvayur also known as the Dwaraka of South India of the famous Sri Krishna Temple. Here is said to have been worshipped by Lord  Brahma himself at Dwaraka. After Lord Krishna left this Earth for his heavenly abode and the holy city of Dwaraka.

Lord Shiva’s Shrine: At Mammiyur just half a kilometers away from Krishna temple.
In the Chuttambalam or outer enclosure is the tall 33.5 mts high gold plated Dhwajastambham or Flagpost abd the 7 mts high Dipastambha or Pillor of Lamps, whose thirteen circular spectable when lit.Sri Parthasarthi Temple (close to sri Krishna temple).

Perunthatta Shiva Temple: Entry into the templs is restricted to Non-Hindus and photographuy is strictly prohibited.

St. Anthony Church (in Guruvayur).

Punnaturkotta: 4 kms from Guruvayur. Ancient fort, which houses 40 temples elephants.

Chavakkad: 3 kms from Guruvayur. It has a pleasant beach and mansoleum of Haridrosskuttee, lieutenant of Haider Ali of Maysore.

Palayur: One km from Chavakkad. It is the site of an ancient church founded by St. Thomas the Apostle in !st century.


 

The best way to experience Munnar is to stroll through the tea fields and splash around in the waterfalls. Be sure to spend a few extra paise to bus or rickshaw out to some of Munnar's vistas. The cascades of Athukad Falls can be found near Pullivasal Tea Estate, just off Cochin Rd. They are accessible by foot with the option of returning by local bus. Munnar biggest attraction is the Eravikulam National Park, 15km away, established in 1978 to protect the spectacular Mt. Anaimundi(2694m), the highest Indian peak south of the Himalayas. The mountain and its surrounding are home to the endangered mountain goat, the Nilgiri tahr, of whichonly 2500 are estimated to remain. The park's ecosystem also supports gaur, wild dogs, jungle cats, mongoose and barking deer. Surrounded by beautiful tea fields, visitors can stroll past waterfalls and through fields of grass along the mountainside to where the wild goats are found.
