irinjalakudaThe best way to experience Munnar is to stroll through the tea fields and splash around in the waterfalls. Be sure to spend a few extra paise to bus or rickshaw out to some of Munnar's vistas. The cascades of Athukad Falls can be found near Pullivasal Tea Estate, just off Cochin Rd. They are accessible by foot with the option of returning by local bus. There is a lake with boating and (Land Bound) elephants 15km away. For more information of these places and other scenic walks around Munnar.

Munnar biggest attraction is the Eravikulam National Park, 15km away, established in 1978 to protect the spectacular Mt. Anaimundi(2694m), the highest Indian peak south of the Himalayas. The mountain and its surrounding are home to the endangered mountain goat, the Nilgiri tahr, of whichonly 2500 are estimated to remain. The park's ecosystem also supports gaur, wild dogs, jungle cats, mongoose and barking deer. Surrounded by beautiful tea fields, visitors can stroll past waterfalls and through fields of grass along the mountainside to where the wild goats are found.
 Entertainment And Nightlife:
Munnar doesn't exactly have a happening club scene, but the closest you'll get is trying to get yourself admitted to the exclusive members-only High Range Club, where the old world atmosphere of the planters' social world still lives on in the gentleman's bar, lined with hunting trophies and a collection of headwear.
