The name “Villa Brook” holds a very special aura and charm to the entire household of the host family. The holiday home Villa Brook, housed in the new architectural marvel “Brooklands Avenue”, is the Annexe of “Brooklands” the family dwelling of Mr. Santhosh Paul Anthraper, the host. The Anthraper family house at Alleppey was named “Brooklands” in reminiscence of the ancient maternal ancestral family home in Madras “The Brooklands”- a sprawling 6 bedroom, two-storied bungalow, built in 1933 by the late Shri Rao Bahadur C.J. Paul, who was the first Malayali District Collector of Madras and who is the maternal great grandfather of Mr.Santhosh Paul Anthraper. The Bungalow was along the banks of the river Cuom (and hence Brook). Perhaps a stay at Villa Brook may also revive old memories for all prospective tourists who will occupy the villa.!!

Mr. M.G. Paul Anthraper who is a leading practicing chartered accountant in Alleppey. Mrs. Shiny Paul Anthraper (Wife of Mr. Paul Anthraper), who is an expert cook, looks after the culinary and house-keeping at Villa Brook. Mr. George Paul Anthraper, elder brother of Santhosh Paul Anthraper, is a young chartered accountant with specialization in management administration and presently employed in Bangalore, and he extends his professional skills along with the culinary skills of his wife Mrs. Suni George Anthraper and tiny tot Maria George Anthraper. Ms. Alphonsa Paul Anthraper and Ms. Anna Paul Anthraper (younger sisters of Santhosh Paul Anthraper) welcomes the guests at Villa Brook with smiles and cheers. The hosts belong to the royal Anthraper Family.
The history of Anthraper family goes back to the early 16th century. The very name 'Anthraper' is derived from Andrew Pereira, a Portuguese name, and also 'AntharaPeriyavar', a term used to denote a person of high nobility. It begins with the arrival in
Kochin of Andrew Pereira of Portugal and his wife Catherina and son Diego Pereira along with Vasco de Gama, the explorer, in 1502. Andrew Pereira settled down in
Kochin, rising to the rank of Military Commander of the King of
Kochin and in time, his son inherited his father's mantle and served the King well. Diego Pereira was made a 'Madambi' (Local chieftain or Earl) in 1545, and was the only Christian Madambi among 71 other Madambis of Cherthala Area. The Anthrapers always married ladies of Portuguese origin until 1786 when Kochandy Anthraper accepted a bride Anna, from the local parish. And with this, their integration with the land was complete. All the living Anthrapers of many branches are the descendants of this couple.

Local ingredients and recipes coupled with influences from foreign lands have gifted our cuisine a unique and extensive repertoire. Rice is the stable grain and forms the backbone of diverse dishes. Coconut is used generously, along with fresh spices, ethnic ingredients such as tamarind, and indigenous vegetables, from jackfruit to white pumpkins, all of which add an inspired flourish to the simplest of meals. The boutique is run and managed by Mrs. Shiny Paul Anthraper, ably assisted by her daughters Ms. Alphonsa Paul Anthraper and Ms. Anna Paul Anthraper and a team of dedicated staff. They also specialize in designing innovative baptism dresses and baby robes and create ornamental bridal baskets, baptism baskets, first holy communion candles etc. The boutique also has an exotic collection of unstitched garments, bed spreads, designer sarees, dried flowers, table mats, bamboo mats etc. A visit to the boutique will be a memorable experience to the guests of Villa Brook.
